    ◇  意思不同  ◇
     
    有些动词后既可接动词不定式,又可接动名词,但它们却有区别。如:
     
    1. like to do 与 like doing
     
    前者表示“此时喜欢做某事”,指一次性动作;后者表示“经常喜欢做某事 ”,指习惯性动作。如:
     
    (1)I like to swim in this river now. (现在喜欢去游泳)
     
    (2)I like swimming. (平常喜欢游泳)
     
    类似的还有: dislike to do / doing (“不喜欢做某事 ”) , hate to do / doing (“讨厌做某事 ”) , love to do / doing (“热爱做某事”) , prefer to do / doing (“更喜欢做某事”) 。
     
    2. remember to do 与 remember doing
     
    前者表示“记得要去做某事”,后者表示“记得做过某事”。如:
     
    (1)She remembered to see her parents the next day. (记住明天要做的事)
     
    (2)I remembered meeting her yesterday. (记住昨天做过的事)
     
    3. forget to do  与 forget doing
     
    前者表示“忘了要去做某事 ”,后者表示“忘了做过某事 ”。如:
     
    (1)They always forget to have lunch when they are busy. (忘记吃饭,“吃饭”这事没有做)
     
    (2)I forgot phoning Tom, so I phoned him the second time. (忘记打了电话,“打电话”这事做过了)
     
    4. try to do 与 try doing
     
    前者表示“试图 (尽力 )做某事”,后者表示“尝试 (试着)做某事”。如:
     
    (1)He tried to catch the early bus and he got on it at last. (想要赶上早班车)
     
    (2)I tried getting on well with the new students. (尝试着与人相处)
     
    5. mean to do 与 mean doing
     
    前者表示“打算做某事”,后者表示“意味着做某事”。如:
     
    (1)Jack meant to help others. (打算帮助别人)
     
    (2)Drinking means wasting your life. (意味着浪费生命)
     
    6. need to do 与 need doing
     
    前者表示“需要做某事”,主语是人;后者表示“需要被做”,主语是物。如:
     
    (1)We need to have a rest. (我们需要休息)
     
    (2)The bike needs mending. (自行车需要被修理,相当于needs to be mended)
     
    7. want to do 与 want doing
     
    前者表示“想要做某事”,主语是人,后者表示“需要被做”,主语是物。如:
     
    (1)We want to have a rest. (我们想要休息)
     
    (2)The bike wants mending. (自行车需要被修理)
     
    8. go on to do 与 go on doing
     
    前者表示“做完一件事后继续做另一件事”,后者表示“继续做同一件事”。如:
     
    (1)After reading English, she went on to learn math. (读了英语,继续学数学,共两件事)
     
    (2)When I was writing a letter, someone knocked at the door. I opened the door and then
     
    went on writing the letter. (原来就在写信,现在继续写信)
     
    9. continue to do  与 continue doing
     
    前者表示“做完一件事后继续做另一件事”,后者表示“继续做同一件事”。用法和上面的go on to do与go on doing 一样。举例略。
     
    10. be used to do 与 be used to doing
     
    前者表示“被用来做某事”,后者表示“习惯于做某事”。如:
     
    (1)Dictionaries are used to look up words. (词典被用来查找单词)
     
    (2)He is used to exercising in the morning.(他习惯在早上锻炼)
     
    11. stop to do sth. 与  stop doing sth.
     
    前者表示“停下来去做另一件事”,后者表示“停下正在做的事情”。如:
     
    The two girls stopped talking when they saw me.
     
    那两个女孩一见到我就停止了讲话。
     
    The two girls stopped to talk to me when they saw me.
     
    这两个女孩一看到我就停下来和我讲话。 
     
    12. can’t help to do sth. 与 can’t help doing sth.
     
    前者表示“不能帮助做某事”,后者表示“情不自禁做某事”。如:
     
    I can't help to do such stupid thing.
     
    我不能帮着做这样愚蠢的事。
     
    The movie is so funny. I can't help laughing!
     
    这部电影如此搞笑。我情不自禁地笑了。
